Delran Night Out Canceled

Due to the ongoing pandemic, it is with heartfelt disappointment that we must announce that the Township has made the difficult decision to cancel Delran Night Out for 2021.

The current guidance from the CDC, NJ Department of Health, and the Governor’s office indicate that it will not be possible to allow for outdoor events beyond a few hundred people. Since Delran Night Out is an event that has been attended by over 4,000 Delran residents, we do not see a path to an event this large.

This event takes months of planning and we simply would not have enough time to plan at the last minute. Additionally, if we took the chance and attempted to put down deposits with all of the vendors, the township could lose thousands of dollars if we ultimately had to cancel.

Moreover, we could not responsibly ask our first responders from the Police and Fire departments and EMS to both spend the many hours of planning and be subject to the additional exposure knowing that the event probably would not happen.

Please know this decision, made after several weeks of discussion and deliberation, was not made easily. We enjoy this event as much you have told us you enjoy it. However, our priority must always be the safety of all of our residents.

We remain hopeful that, as the vaccines do their work and the guidelines lift, we will be able to safely plan the remainder of our events for the year, especially the Winter Festival. We hope we have the opportunity to make the Winter Festival bigger and better than ever!

Thank you all for your understanding and support. We look forward to seeing everyone again soon!

Recycle Coach

Delran residents can now enjoy an even easier approach to accessing Waste and Recycling Information. We are thrilled to have Recycle Coach fully integrated with the most up to date Public Works information available right on our website at https://www.delrantownship.org/recycle-coach/

The web-app contains information about our residential garbage and recycling services, leaf and branch pickup, paper shredding events and more that helps you utilize these services more effectively. You can even expect communication directly from us should there be any changes to the program, including schedule updates, through the Recycle Coach app, which is a free  download available directly on your Apple or Android device!

The “What Goes Where?” search engine makes sorting waste and understanding collection requirements much easier. Residents can now search for specific items like “couch” or “TV” and find out exactly what to do with those unwanted items.

The Recycle Coach app is not only a communication platform, but an educational one as well. Articles on a wide variety of topics like garbage and recycling are available on the Recycle Coach website’s Blog, Recyclepedia, and Resources sections.

We hope you enjoy using Recycle Coach as we move forward in making Delran township Public Works services simple, engaging, and easier to navigate.
