Please do not leave your inspection requests (dates/time) on our voicemail.  You need to speak with someone in the Community Development Office to confirm your request is scheduled.

Final inspections are important for a few different reasons., Once a permit is taken out for a project a paper trail is started and when final inspections are not called for this creates stagnant paperwork, which clogs up filing cabinets and wastes township time trying to clean these files up. 

Another reason is the failure to obtain your final inspection and receive your certificate may be a possible loophole for insurance carriers not to cover a claim (i.e. pools). Lastly, failure to call for a final inspection according to State statutes could result in a Notice of Violation and/or monetary penalties.


Final Inspections are required before final payment is made to contractor.

Time Frames for plan review:
Initial Plan Review Submittal………..20 business days.
Re-submittal of Plan Review…………7 business days.
(please note, these are State regulated time frames.)

Minimum Code:

Please remember the codes that are enforced by our department are a minimum standard code set by the State of New Jersey. As far as the Quality of workmanship performed, this department, by law cannot comment on the Quality of workmanship by a contractor, this means the quality of workmanship desired would be the responsibility of the homeowner. The code simply states the work shall be performed in a workmanlike manner and meet these minimum standards.
