Under supervision, the employee must be able to perform various types of manual labor, have the ability to operate a truck in connection with daily tasks and be able to perform other related duties as required. The examples of work for this title are for illustrative purposes only. Duties: Employee will be trained in tasks related to the operation of mechanical equipment at the sewage treatment plant or collection system, such as; operation of various machines, pumps, valves and other equipment, the reading of gages and how to conduct standardized tests. Other duties include: maintaining sewer department properties; grass cutting, pulling weeds and snow removal. Employee will assist co-workers responsible for mechanical work. This position uses equipment directly related to the wastewater treatment plant. Qualifications: Candidate must be able to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing and possess a commercial driver’s license (CDL) class B with tanker endorsement or obtain one before the expiration of one (1) year of employment. Applicants must agree and diligently work to obtain an NJDEP (S-1 or C-1) Wastewater license or greater.
