Marlowe Smith

Councilman Ward 3 - Term expires 12/31/2026

Marlowe is a Senior Legislative Specialist with the PECO Governmental Affairs team and has worked for the company for the last 11 years with numerous specialized roles.  Prior to PECO, he worked for other Fortune 500 companies including Mobil, ExxonMobil, Sunoco, BP Castrol and Kellogg’s in a variety of positions.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Marlowe and his wife were searching for an area in South Jersey that would provide an easier commute for both of them, and after speaking to friends and members of their church, saw an opportunity in Delran that offered great schools, reasonably priced homes, and a friendly community. 

*Delran resident for 18 years. 

He has served as a current Zoning Board member for the past 8 years, as well as being Assistant Coach for his son’s Delran Athletic Association teams. Marlowe looks forward to the opportunity to serve on town council and represent the needs of his neighbors in Ward 3.  

Family

Marlowe is a devoted husband to his wife of 19 years, Dr. Andrea Mooring Smith, who is a Physical Therapist in Bordentown. He is also a proud father to his two children, Maya who is a member of the National Honor Society and will be graduating from Delran High School in 2021, and is interested in studying Engineering in college;  and Aaron, who is a bright and exceedingly mature 8th grader at Delran Middle School, and enjoys playing baseball and basketball with Delran AA.

Community Involvement

Marlowe is passionate about mentoring young people and assisting them in discovering their talents and finding their purpose while showing them how to set goals, achieve milestones, and develop a focused plan to propel themselves towards future successes.  

In addition to coaching, Marlowe is a Youth Leader at the Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Edgewater Park, NJ and successfully leads a college seminar designed to provide high school students and parents with the college preparation process. He also puts his passion to work by being a leader as a Big Brother to two different Little Brothers, Julian & Jamir; with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
