Mayor’s Update 03.09.22

On March 8th, Delran Township took the first step in the State of New Jersey’s We Value our Veterans Program as we honored Sergeant Sean Huryn for his service and presented him with a proclamation and recognition of gratitude.

Sergeant Huryn, a veteran of the Iraq War, retired from the Marine Corps in 2012 after seven years of service to his country, during which time he received numerous Certificates of Commendation, Meritorious Masts, and awards including Expert Marksmanship Badge, The Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and Naval Unit Commendation Medal.

Following his retirement, he has continued his dedication to his brothers in arms, his community, and this country as a member of the local VFW Post 3020 where he currently serves as the Senior Vice Commander. Sergeant Huryn and the other VFW 3020 members will be working closely with Councilman Lynn Jeney who has spearheaded Delran’s participation in the We Value our Veterans Program.

This program gives municipalities the opportunity to value and honor the sacrifices, patriotism, and bravery displayed by our men and women who have worn a military uniform through a variety of initiatives.
