Public Works Summer Hours 6 AM to 2 PM, Monday to Friday, July 1st to  August 31st

The Public Works Yard is open on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 8 AM to 12 PM.

The public works men and women serve our community with pride and their goal is to keep Delran a desirable community.  Every day of every season in all kinds of weather the public works department works hard to improve our resident’s quality of life.  Our dedicated crews add value to the daily experience of all those who live and do business in Delran.  Our workers consist of 14 employees who include one superintendent, one supervisor, one secretarial assistant, two mechanics and nine roadmen.  We are all friendly and can be approached at any time for any question regarding the care and upkeep of township properties.  We are out every day and can be spotted by our lime green shirts.

Some of our tasks in the town include, but not limited to, pothole repair; branch pickup; snow removal; clean and repair all storm drains; painting crosswalks; maintain all irrigation; curbside leaf collection; cut and maintain all parks in common areas; repair or replace all road signs.  Public Works maintains and operates a compost facility and we also have a fully equipped automotive garage in which we repair all of the police vehicles, all of the township heavy equipment and vehicles, and all of the sewer department vehicles.

The public works department also provides a drop off facility for all your recycles, paint, electronics (excluding TV's and Glass Monitors) and motor oil.  We produce a fine quality of wood chips which we offer back to the Delran residents free of charge if picked up.

BRANCH PICK UP
Please note that branch pickup is operational between April 1st to October 1st.  The township provides a dumpster at the Public Works yard for branches and tree limbs.  You may bring them to the municipal building Monday through Friday between 7 am and 2:30 pm and place them in or next to the wood dumpster. Sizes are limited to a maximum of 8’ long and 4” in diameter and should be stacked in the same direction.  Please refer to the printable Pick Up Schedule to see when leaves and branches are scheduled for pick up.

FALL LEAF COLLECTION
Leaves are collected by the Department of Public Works in the Fall between Mid-October and December 1st and in the Spring between April 1st until April 30th.   All leaves should be placed in the street next to the curb but only during those two collection seasons.   NO LEAVES IN YOUR TRASH COLLECTION.

Delran Township has a Snow Ordinance in effect. Please check 12.3.8 and 12.3.11 of the Ordinance Book at the Municipal E-Code website.

STREET SIGNS/TRAFFIC SIGNALS
The Department of Public Works maintains all street signs, stop signs and road signs throughout the town.  The signs are replaced as needed according to a maintenance schedule. The upkeep of our streets requires constant vigilance and the department employees take pride in the town’s clean and well-maintained roadways.  Report any traffic signal outages to the Police department or the Public Works department.

GRASS CLIPPINGS
Residents are reminded that there is no roadside pickup for grass clippings. The County and Township urge all residents to use mulching mowers. If you must pickup grass clippings, please bag and put out with your normal trash. Bags must not exceed 40 pounds.
