DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
Jerry DeSanto, Superintendent
Larry Jack, Foreman of Parks & Playgrounds
All questions call the Public Works Department at 856-461-7737 between the hours of 7AM to 3 PM.
The Public Works Department consists of 15 employees that have dedicated themselves to keeping Delran a desirable community. They provide daily service in maintaining Delran’s municipal complex, public streets, drainage ways, parks, sports fields, street signs, compost site, leaf collection and branch pickup. They also provide snow plowing of the streets, the municipal building parking lot, school bus stops, and township sidewalks.
These men are hardworking and friendly and they can be identified by their bright green fluorescent shirts. If you should see them feel free to go up and say hi. They will be glad to answer any questions you may have or direct you to the proper personnel.
The Department of Public Works maintains a fleet of 21 vehicles plus all police vehicles and 25 pieces of major machinery and equipment.

BRANCH PICK UP
Please note that branch pickup is operational between March 15th to Mid-October. The township provides a dumpster at the Public Works yard for branches and tree limbs. You may bring them to the municipal building Monday through Friday between 7 am and 2:30 pm and place them in or next to the wood dumpster. Please refer to the printable Pick Up Schedule to see when leaves and branches are scheduled for pick up.
FALL LEAF COLLECTION
Leaves are collected by the Department of Public Works in the Fall between October 15th and December 15th and in the Spring between April 1st until May 1st. All leaves should be placed in the street next to the curb but only during those two collection seasons.
Delran Township has a Snow Ordinance in effect. Please check 12.3.8 and 12.3.11 of the Ordinance Book at the Municipal E-Code website.
STREET SIGNS/TRAFFIC SIGNALS
The Department of Public Works maintains the street and stop signs throughout the Town and they are replaced as needed according to a maintenance schedule. Upkeep of over miles of streets requires constant vigilance and the Department employees take pride in the Town’s clean and well-maintained roadways.
The Parks program is responsible for maintaining public facilities, outdoor parks, and recreation facilities.
BALL DIAMOND MAINTENANCE
The Department mows and maintains all of the Township’s ball diamonds.
The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining all parks, soccer fields and all playgrounds including Green Acres. This includes mowing a multitude of acres, trimming trees, landscaping and the painting and repair of park benches, playground equipment, and buildings.
Curbside brush pickup is available for residents March through October 15. Brush should be placed between the street and sidewalk. Sizes are limited to a maximum of 8 feet in length and 4 inches in diameter and should be stacked in the same direction.
Residents are reminded that there is no roadside pickup for grass clippings. The County and Township urge all residents to use mulching mowers. If you must pickup grass clippings, please bag and put out with your normal trash. Bags must not exceed 40 pounds.
Remember, the Township residents ultimately pay the "Tipping Fees" (fees paid to county dump) to dump grass in the dump. Allowing grass clippings to stay on your lawn saves money.
TREES AND STUMPS
Branches, stumps, and old firewood can be brought into the Public Works Department between the hours of 7:00 am and 2:30 pm. Stumps can be picked up by the Public Works Department for a fee of $25.
Tires can be brought into the Public Works Department for a fee of $2 per tire. Tires with rims cost $3 and truck tires are $5. Tires are not permitted in curbside trash and will not be collected.
